Inspiring Confidence, Curiosity & Limitless Potential

Whether I’m reading Charlie and the Funky Monkeys Challenge in a kindergarten classroom or speaking to educators, parents, students, or professionals, my message is rooted in this belief:

Confidence isn’t given—it’s built.

As a cognitive psychologist, author, and former professor, I bring a unique blend of storytelling, research, and heart to every talk. My goal is to create experiences that spark curiosity, build courage, and leave audiences of any any feeling empowered and inspired.

Author Visits (Grades PreK–5)

My author visits are interactive, fun, and designed to connect with young readers. Each visit includes a read-aloud of Charlie and the Funky Monkeys Challenge, a behind-the-scenes look at the book’s creation, and an age-appropriate discussion about confidence, trying new things, and fostering a growth mindset.

Options include:

  • Read-aloud

  • Classroom visits or all-school assemblies

  • Signed book orders in advance (see below!)

I also speak at conferences, PTA meetings, education forums, community events, and on podcasts about topics including:

  • Storytelling as a tool for shaping belief systems

  • Limiting beliefs, stereotype threat, and how to help kids rise above them
